Indoor Air Quality & Babies

Bringing home a new baby is by far one of the most exciting and special times in our lives.  We often create a wonderful nursery or space for our precious little ones by painting, replacing flooring and purchasing a crib, mattress, changing table and tons of other baby stuff!  All these items contain chemicals that will off-gas potentially dangerous toxins into your baby’s room.  What is toxic to you is about 15 times more toxic to a baby.
While researching this subject, the following items appeared every time:

• Get rid of or don’t install carpet.
• Purchase an organic mattress.
• Use zero VOC paints.
• Avoid furniture (especially the crib or bedframe) constructed with particle board.
• Wash all new baby products with a 1 to 1 1/2 cups of vinegar.
